This Turned Into A Frozen Review, Oops...

Okay, so its been two weeks, so what? I know I already broke my new years resolution but in fairness my laptop did break, and I'm sick, that's gotta get me some leeway, right? I am actually quite sick and my mum is making me go to school tomorrow, which sucks, it also means that I probably shouldn't be up at 1.30 writing this, but fuck it, here I am. I just watched Frozen, y'know the Disney film that just came out, I was quite surprised at how little Elsa featured in the film considering how much she's talked about on Tumblr. Elsa is the snow queen one and the movie is kind of about her but more her sister, Anna (which is pronounced the Nordic way, with the long 'A' at the start, so it's kinda like Awnna but not quite) and her love story which was a little stupid and pretty predictable by about the halfway point. I also think it would've been a much better film if at the end they had left it at (*SPOILER ALERT*) the point where everything is frozen and Anna had just sacrificed herself to save her sister, instead of bringing her back with 'the power of true love' which was a bit of a bullshitty (I can't decide whether that has two t's or one) ending but I suppose it is a children's story, for which it was a very good one. It also did teach a good lesson which many Disney movies have neglected, the whole don't marry someone the first time you meet them thing (or even fall in love with them) cos you don't actually know them at that point they could actually be an asshole and are just hiding it, but I do know that already, that's mainly for the kids (and idiotic teenagers, occasionally idiotic adults too actually), my favourite feature of the film were the Trolls, they were brilliant, as were the reindeer and snowman (who is a lot like Weronika). All in all, while the movie was a bit shit there were some decent characters and it was enjoyable enough to watch. If you've got a bit of time and you don't know what to do with it (or you've scrolled to the bottom of your Tumblr feed and there's nothing new there) watch Frozen, it's not a brilliant movie but it is alright and it's really pretty.
I'm not sure how this ended up being a review of Frozen but it did, hope you enjoyed it, I'm gonna try go to sleep now so g'night.

Suburbia

Suburbia is a film about a group of punks who call themselves ’TR’ or ‘The Rejected.’ They’re squatting in an abandoned house in a ghost estate in the suburbs of town. It’s based mainly around the experience of one of the newer members of the group. He had run away from home because his mother was an alcoholic and when his mother was sent to jail, for drunk driving, his younger brother (about 8 y/o) joined them too. I’ve watched this film so many times and I never grow sick of it. It’s the only movie I’ve ever actually cried while watching. It’s an amazing film and really makes you feel as if you’ve known the characters for all your life.  It’s definitely worth a watch, it’s just so realistic. I really love it, so GO AND WATCH!!!

Pump Up the Volume

I think that 'Pump Up the Volume' is my favourite Christian Slater film. In it he plays an angsty teen, Mark Hunter, who is a bit of a loner and starts his own pirate radio show under the name 'Happy Harry Hard-On' where he basically confronts his ridiculously corrupt school and starts a bit of a rebellion against it. Of course there's a nice little love story fit in there. It's a really good movie and if you don't mind getting 'Everybody Knows' stuck in your head for a few days you should definitely watch it. Actually I don't care if you don't want it stuck in your head. GO WATCH IT. IT IS AMAZING.

Star Trek Into Darkness

I went to the cinema to see the new Star Trek movie with my dad, he was really excited cos he's a bit of a Trekkie but I was a bit dubious as to how good a sequel could be. I mean name one decent sequel other than Back to the Future II & III. We went one Thursday straight from school so I was still in my uniform and really bloody hungry. The film itself was amazing, I haven't been so into a movie since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 2) came out.  Benedict Cumberbatch makes a really wonderful villain, best villain I've seen for a long time (I'll never be able to see him as Sherlock again). The other characters were really good too but I don't think there was enough of Bones, Scotty or Chekov but that's probably just because they're my favourite characters. I think the Admirals daughter, Carol, should have had a more central role in the film. Overall this film was amazing, funny, sad and a really good sci-fi movie all packed into one. One of the best films I've seen and I definitely recommend it, watch the first one too, it's really even better than this.
